Position Summary:
The Assessment Manager is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of all aspects of assessment data for use in the implementation of a balanced assessment program for the system including analyzing and providing assessment data to system stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the analysis and reporting of data under the state accountability systemCoordinates data use at both the system, school and classroom levelCollaborates with appropriate staff to provide professional learning around leading assessment data measuresManages the replication of state calculations of metrics found within the state accountability systemAnalyzes District assessment data, which may include system accountability data, student achievement and growth data and strategic performance data including: Writes SQL queries to extract data from District data sources such as the student information system and data warehouse Designs and programs packages to standardize ETL and analytic processesCleans and manipulates data, merges data files, conducts statistical analysesInterprets and presents findings to inform District, school and classroom strategy and decision makingCoordinates and manages all aspects of assessment data to ensure quality assessment data is available to District stakeholders in a timely mannerServes as a technical resource for District and school administrators to answer questions about the state accountability system around assessment and the application and interpretation of state assessment dataManages and oversees the coordination of District-wide surveys, teacher perception surveys and climate surveys and the District's online survey platformManages data requirements for local, state and federal grantsPlans the use of assessment instruments that use technology to assist in the reporting and analysis of results, including disaggregation of subgroup achievement dataSupervises support staffMaintains current knowledge and training in statistical methodology and programming needed to gain efficiency and efficacy in position including:The use of statistical software to automate processes, decrease error and increase productivityBest practices for replicable research for all work, including version control systems and documenting source codeUnderstanding FERPA, HIPPA and any/all other regulatory requirements regarding the protection of individually identifiable dataPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

- Minimum 5 years of experience administering and/or analyzing student and District assessment data in a classroom, administrative, or research setting required Project management experience required

- Demonstrate knowledge of methods for ensuring reliability and validity in item development and test constructionKnowledge of project management and process improvement methodsAbility to plan and coordinate programs and administrative activities of a complex, interrelated and interdependent nature, where unknowns and numerous contingency factors are involvedDemonstrated experience coordinating the work of others as part of a cross-functional teamAbility to manage conflicting high-priority projectsMust be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilitiesAbility to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issuesMust be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people Specialized knowledge in the areas of advanced analytical methods, statistics, machine learning, and/or latent variable modeling Highly proficient in a statistical programming language (e.g. SAS, Stata, R, Python), requiredAbility to develop reproducible reports using programs such as LaTeX, Markdown, Sweave, Knitr, etc.Ability to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and other reports using Microsoft PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, etc.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
