POSITION SUMMARY
: This is a full-time supervisory position for the Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps program. The AmeriCorps Supervisor will work under the supervision of the AmeriCorps Director. The AmeriCorps Supervisor will provide support and direction to 45 AmeriCorps members that serve K-12 students at 31 Elementary and Secondary schools around the district. The AmeriCorps Supervisor supports the AmeriCorps Director with planning professional development for AmeriCorps team members. The AmeriCorps Supervisor will facilitate data collection, manage AmeriCorps placements, and create community partnerships to facilitate recruitment of AmeriCorps members and community volunteers. Contract is on a year to year basis. 2018-2019 is year one of a three year grant cycle.

This position will support Goal 1, Goal 4, and Goal 5 of the Strategic Plan. The service that the AmeriCorps members provide to elementary students supports our Goal 1 initiative to ensure that all students have adequate reading skills. The service that AmeriCorps members provide to secondary students supports Goals 4 and 5 by ensuring that students are able to develop content mastery as well as to ensure that they have a transition plan in place for after high school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.   • Coordinate training for team members.Develops and memorializes system-wide support structures by designing training procedures, manuals, or course materials (e.g. A guide for Elementary Sites on how to effectively use AmeriCorps members)Maintain team member and program records.Provide leadership for team activities and team members.Assist with and oversee after school programs.Assist with AmeriCorps evaluation process.Responsible for contributing to all AmeriCorps reports and documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Two (2) years of experience working in a school-related capacity within the last 5 years
Two (2) years of experience working with students within the last 5 years
One (1) year of experience working in the AmeriCorps program within the last 5 years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in national service organization
Experience in managing an after-school program
Degree or Certificate in Education or Child Development

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Criminal background clearance
Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis
Valid Washington State Driver's License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee will constantly be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer screen and keyboard. The employee may occasionally be required to squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 20 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is may be required to travel to various locations. Nights and Weekends may be required occasionally to meet job demands.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position typically works, Monday through Friday, 260 days per year. Daily schedule will span an 8-hour day within 9:00am-5:30pm, dependent on work demands.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to, and is evaluated by the AmeriCorp Director or designee.
