    Title: Instrumental Music Aide

    Qualifications: *Knowledge of academic principles used in vocational courses.
    *Knowledge of relevant applications of academic principles.
    *Ability to form positive professional relationships with academic and vocational teachers.
    *Ability to work with individual student needs.
    *Strong organizational skills.
    *48 College Credit Hours or the ability to pass a State Approved Assessment within 90 days of employment.

    Reports To: Vocational Coordinator; Building Principal; Vocational Programs Administrator.

    Supervises: Students

    BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
    The Instrumental Music Aide is a team member who works under the supervision of the band teacher. The aide frees the professional from routine daily tasks and also serves as a part of the team. The aide carries out the educational program developed by the teacher and support personnel.

    The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not all-inclusive)
    1. The music library: filing music; checking music/folders OUT/IN for:
      1. Marching Band
      2. Jazz Band
      3. Pep Band
      4. Solos & Ensembles
      5. Concert Band
      6. Wind Ensemble
      7. Audition Music for KMEA
    2. Instrument check OUT/IN-Insurance, keeping tracks of maintenance & repair.
    3. Uniform check OUT/IN-order & collect for: Gloves, Shoes, T-Shirts, Jackets.
    4. Locker/Lock OUT/IN-for 200 plus students.
    5. All student records including:
    Attendance-SASI/grade book/excuse lists/concert programs/financial permission forms/eligibility/band letter points
    1. Fund raising projects through out year:
    Individual student accounts/orders/delivery/collection
    1. All Financial records: PO's & Invoices.
    2. Inventory of uniforms/instruments/equipment/music/office supplies.
    3. Help with the Spring Musical.
    4. All Copy & Correspondence: letters/newsletters/mailers.
    5. Calendar & Daytime Appointments.
    6. General Filing & Organization plus Secretarial duties including computer work (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
    7. Supervise outside of class activities when necessary.
    8. In case of teacher absence help substitute with the daily routine for classes.
    9. Plus whatever else comes along such as local community concerts & events.
    10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by the supervising teacher and the Building Principal.
    Term of Employment: 9 Months

    Salary Range: Salary will range from $12.29 to $13.29

    Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
