Title: Lunchroom/Playground Aide

Qualifications: * High School graduate or equivalent
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
* Must be able to be on feet for long period of time

Reports To: Supervising Teacher & Building Principal

Supervises: Students

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
The Aide shall assist in the establishment and maintenance of a safe and orderly environment throughout the noon time. Activities may include assisting students and cleaning various kitchen items.

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not all-inclusive)

1. Maintain order in the lunchroom and/or outside on the playground.
2. Assist students with various tasks.
3. Perform various duties and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
4. Assist with cafeteria staff as needed.
5. Assist students with preparing playground equipment for use during noon recess as needed.
6. Supervise/assist students as they are dismissed from lunch tables and prepare for recess.
7. Supervise students while at recess. Enforce school rules and maintain safe climate.
8. Report hazardous areas and/or equipment to the principal.
9. Report disciplinary problems to the principal and/or teacher.
10. Supervise students in classroom during noon recess in inclement weather.
11. Assist students with storing playground equipment after recess.
12. Perform other duties as determined by the building principal.

Term of Employment: 9 Months

Salary Range: Pay is $11.14 per hour

Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
