IB Examiner for Film

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of:

IB Examiners for Film

Through the study and analysis of film texts and exercises in film-making, the Diploma Programme film course explores film history, theory and socio-economic background. The course develops students' critical abilities, enabling them to appreciate the multiplicity of cultural and historical perspectives in film. To achieve an international understanding within the world of film, students are taught to consider film texts, theories and ideas from the points of view of different individuals, nations and cultures.

We are seeking to recruit film examiners in our Diploma Programme (DP) to mark externally assessed work or to moderate internally assessed components (reviewing the original marking of teachers).

Applicants must have:

  • a minimum of one year's ongoing experience teaching the subject to students aged 15 or above
  • academic qualifications in the subject at an appropriate level
  • availability during the assessment period in order to complete marking (April-May or May-June)
  • reliable broadband internet connection in an environment that is suitable for marking examination material.
  • IB teaching experience is not essential.

All IB examiners are paid a fee per script marked. The greatest benefit to an examiner comes from the insight and the professional development that is acquired through the experience of examining. This experience helps teachers to improve the quality of their teaching.
