Title: Library Clerk
Qualifications: 48 College Credit Hours or the ability to pass a State Approved Assessment within 90 days of employment.
Reports To: Library Media Specialist, Building Principal
BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
The Library Media Clerk works under the supervision of the Library Media Specialist and Building Principal. The Clerk frees the professional from routine daily tasks.

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not all-inclusive)
- Check materials in/out to students, teachers, and staff and re-shelve materials. Must be able to shelve material at a variety of shelf-cabinet heights (3 inches to 6 feet).
- Distribute overdue notices, fine notices and reserved book notices.
- Schedule and order materials
- Receive and return materials according to schedule.
- Check in periodicals and newspapers and prepare them for circulation.
- Set up and maintain calendars, announcements and bulletin boards.
- Type correspondence.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and arrange for repair. Must be able to lift equipment (up to 25lbs) from carts (24" to 54") as needed.
- Order library supplies from Library Media Services.
- Record lost books.
- Maintain and record A-V requests.
- Monitor hallway traffic.
- Assist with book repair and maintain repair records.
- Operate a personal computer
- Assist with inventory.
- Assist with cleaning of equipment.
- Assist with checking-in and out of student computers.
- Assist with entering service requests for damaged or malfunctioning computers.
- Assist the LMS in the development of curriculum materials.
- Assist students with print and non-print materials and equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Library Media Specialist and Building Principal.
Salary Range: Pay will range from $12.14 to $13.14 per hour
Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of one time per year.
