    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid New Jersey Supervisor, School Administrator, Principal Certificate or eligibility
  • Formal training or relevant experience with computer technology and networked information systems.
  • Broad knowledge of instructional technology equipment and applications; on-line services; technology resources and integration of technology across the curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-range plans for technology application in the schools and conduct related budget analysis.
  • Capacity to provide professional development to staff on optimal use of technology.
  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the school. ?
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail. ?
  • Flexibility in doing whatever it takes, big or small, to get the task accomplished.
  • Ability to be highly confidential in handling sensitive personal and institutional information.
  • Experience and expertise (preferred) in existing school technology hardware, software, and services, including: Mac OS and ISO (for instructional staff), Windows 7/8 and up (for business office staff), Powerschool, Google Apps for Education, CDK Accounting Software, IEP Direct, and SchoolDude
  • Experience and expertise (preferred) Windows Server 2010 and later, Microsoft Exchange 2013 and later, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, UDP and Cisco Network Appliances.
  • Experience and expertise (preferred) in existing technology-based state compliance reporting and assess,emt, including NJSmart, EWEG, and PARCC.
  • Required criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status & NJ residency.

    SUPERVISES: School-Based Operations & Technology Coordinators

    JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the school's technology plan; enhance instruction through technology across the curriculum; leverage technology to maximize school operational, financial, and compliance reporting services; and, to promote efficiency in the schools with the use of technology.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervises school-based technology coordinators in supporting school staff with technology needs.
  • Studies, evaluates, and, as appropriate, recommends to the Executive Director the adoption of new technology, methods and programs and the purchase of technology hardware, software, and services to meet operational and instructional needs.
  • Works with principals, other instructional leaders, and teachers in developing the school's instructional technology program to achieve state standards and school educational goals and objectives.
  • Leads technology based assessment and data collection for students, staff, and families.
  • Works cooperatively with professional staff in planning and implementing the effective use of technology across instruction and operations.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of the technology-related professional development.
  • Develops and evaluates the school's technology plan with school staff and recommends changes as appropriate.
  • Manages school's yearly E-rate application process in collaboration with business office.
  • Provides leadership in the development of school policies related to the use of technology hardware, software, and services.
  • Cooperates with home office administrators and school principals in the development of electronic information systems and provides technical assistance, as needed.
  • Supports schools and the home office in completing compliance reporting that relies on electronic information systems.
  • Maintains an inventory of the school's technology equipment and a log of equipment maintenance activities.
  • Maintains a catalog of available applications and works cooperatively with Administrators to provide access to appropriate applications for staff, student, and parent use.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of the sections of the budget that relate to technology.
  • Submits requisitions for maintaining, upgrading, and expanding all technology related hardware, software, and services.


  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    Twelve-month employee. Salary to be recommended by Executive Director and approved by board.

    EVALUATION
    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
