The Summer Dreamers Academy is a summer learning camp designed to offer Pittsburgh Public School students completing pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade an opportunity to engage in exciting academic instruction and unique enrichment activities over the summer. With the goal of combating summer learning loss, Summer Dreamers provides targeted academic support delivered by certified teachers, and exposes campers to one-of-a-kind activities facilitated by contracted community activity provider partners. Full Day Teacher - Morning Academic Teacher & Afternoon Activity Teacher - Certified PreK Teachers ONLY (All other applicants will not be considered)

ESL (English as a Second Language) Full Day Teacher

Reports To: Out-of-School Time Team

Salary:
Salaries vary by position. Please review individual job descriptions, available via the links in the Position Summary section, for specific salary information.

Start Date: May 31, 2018
End Date: August 2, 2018

Pre-Camp Hours:
- Participate in up to 45 hours of full day pre-camp professional development and training sessions, June 18-22nd
- Assist with camp site set up
- Participate in the Night Out Event, Thursday, June 21st 2018
During Camp Hours:
- 27 full or half days of work during camp
- Monday-Friday, June 25-August 1, 2018 (no camp Wednesday, July 4th)

Post-Camp Hours:
- Up to 8 hours of wrap-up work, Thursday, August 2, 2018

Qualifications:
Appropriate PA Certification required.

All Summer Dreamers staff lead by example to promote a strong culture of fun and learning, and to ensure that all campers are abiding by the three core Summer Dreamers Academy rules - 1) Work Hard! 2) Be Nice! and 3) Have Fun! Additionally, all Summer Dreamers Academy staff actively participate in activities such as the daily All Camp Meeting, and actively support smooth camp site operations (including performing bus duty, lunch duty, recording camper attendance, etc.) and parental engagement efforts (including preparing basic progress reports, participating in an open house, calling home as needed, etc.).

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic teachers who will help make this camp the destination for summer fun and learning!

Staff Absence Policy:
All staff are expected to be present for the days of PD, training, and work-time leading up to camp, for the post-camp wrap up day(s), and for all 27 days of camp. Exact pre and post camp hours vary by position and are outlined in the attached job descriptions.

Staff are permitted up to 2 absences and pay will be docked for the days missed. If a staff member misses more than 2 days s/he may be asked to leave and will receive payment for the time worked.
