NATURE OF POSITION:
Helps students understand their abilities, aptitudes, and interests in light of the opportunities and demands they experience presently or may experience in the future. Provides effective individual and group guidance and counseling as appropriate. In addition, assists and/or coordinates testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to plan and implement the guidance program as appropriate to meet individual and school needs. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree and Postgraduate Professional or Pupil Personnel Services license with school guidance and counseling endorsement (or eligibility for such).
START DATE:
SALARY / STIPEND: Consistent with the 2018-2019 DPS Teacher Salary Scale, depending on experience and advanced degrees. In addition, the Danville Public School Board pays the employee cost in full for state retirement and in part for health insurance. Other benefits include sick leave and personal leave.
