Description:

The Director of Operations will co-lead The Mildred Avenue K - 8 School alongside the school's Principal. Both the Director of Operations and Principal oversee the school's leadership team and are charged with ensuring the effective management of The Mildred Avenue K - 8 School model. This position is mostly focused on overseeing operations in grades 4-8.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage all systems within the school, including but not limited to: arrival and dismissal procedures; breakfast, lunch, and snack distribution; recess procedures; student enrollment; coverage for absent staff members, and more
  • Manage and oversee the school facility
  • Manage the school budget process including annual budget development and systems to ensure that actual expenses are in line with budgeted expenses, oversee all school-based purchasing and procurement, oversee systems to ensure the school is adhering to its fiscal policies and procedures, and ensure that school invoices are paid on time
  • Oversee student information database system and generate reports as needed
  • Ensure school-wide compliance with health and safety laws, contracts, state education mandates and all federal and state workplace regulations
  • Oversee creation and distribution of progress reports, report cards, and transcripts as necessary
  • Oversee the purchase, use, and maintenance of technology equipment and infrastructure
  • Oversee school climate in the upper grades
  • Partner with central office to ensure that school-based employees receive payroll and benefits in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Masters Degree preferred
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
