Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by completion of an approved apprentice-level training program, plus five years of progressively more responsible experience in grounds maintenance, one of which shall have been at the lead level. Can demonstrate knowledge of the methods and skills in the use of equipment, materials, and tools appropriate for groundskeeping and heavy equipment operation; capability to establish methods, procedures, deadlines, and priorities for assigned workers and perform employee evaluations, as required; knowledge of common hazards and necessary safety precautions; knowledge of local, state, and national codes; facility with reading, interpreting, and explaining instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals; capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when repair is not economically practical, and perform tasks and arithmetic computations; experience with computer operations and basic software; and strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions and in adverse climatic conditions; verification of an approved apprentice-level training program. Valid driver's license with a good driving record and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B). May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume an emergency call-out list status.
