Magnet School Specialist
Waterbury Arts Magnet School
General Statement of Duties: Reporting directly to the School Principal, the Magnet School Specialist provides support for the recruiting of students into the magnet school.
Example of Duties: (not limited to the duties listed below)
· Provide technical and administrative assistance in implementing the lottery
· Maintain the student records pertaining to the waiting list
· Assist the Principal in other administrative duties unique to running an inter-district magnet school including supervision of clerical classified staff
· Supervise the Grant Facilitator in the operations of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, fiscal accounting, financial reporting, insurance and risk management
Qualifications:
· A minimum of a 4yr BA/BS degree and/or equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
· Successful track record working in a private/magnet or public school environment
· Excellent technology skills including experience using Microsoft Office, data management software, student information systems and fiscal accounting applications
· Ability to develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with staff, faculty, administration, contacts with participating school districts and representatives from the Connecticut State Department of Education
Preferred:
In addition to the above, experience in an urban school district and/or a multi-cultural environment.
SALARY/BENEFITS/WORK YEAR:
Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending upon experience. Benefits are governed by the UPSEU #69 agreement.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), 12 month position.
Note : This is a non-union, grant funded position that exists as long as funds are available.
