Job Summary
Assists with the analysis and administrative processing of student or financial transactions dependent upon operational specialty. Assists with the processing and reviewing of monthly payments to cyber charter schools or District vendors. Provides information to district-managed and charter-managed schools regarding enrolment status and verifies special education information. Performs analyses regarding the appropriateness of invoices for cost avoidance, and creates periodic financial and ad-hoc reports for management.
Essential Functions
Special Finance Specialty
  • Matches data from multiples sources to determine data validity, inclusive of invoice information.
  • Analyzes data to determine trends, identify discrepancies, and develop recommendations to rectify any inconsistencies.
  • Assists with the analysis and administrative processing of Philadelphia students enrolled in non-District managed cyber charter schools.
  • Enters and adjusts data as necessary in multiple databases, such as the District's School Computer Network (SCN) and the Student Information System (SIS) to improve data quality.
  • Verifies receipt of special education documents and validates current status.
  • Assists in identifying, correcting and communicating discrepancies between invoices and payment calculations.
  • Serves as the liaison to various internal and external entities on issues related to enrollment status and invoices for students in non-District managed schools, such as charter schools.
  • Prepares correspondence to respond to inquiries and information requests, as well as coordinates with other offices regarding student enrollment status.
  • Creates summary reports of invoice/payment discrepancies for review.
  • Provides guidance and direction to external stakeholder on reconciling student data.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of full-time, paid, experience in an urban educational environment or a large organization which have included assisting with the implementation of programmatic activities and using personal computer applications to design and maintain databases.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Salary: To: 52950.00

Additional Job Information: This is a non-represented position. The salary grade for this role is 4022. Interviews may be conducted to determine how well a candidate meets the established criteria. Note that not all qualified candidates may be selected for an interview. Additional factors including the ability to follow directions, punctuality and professional conduct will be considered in part of the evaluation process. The selected candidate must have no anecdotal record on file and have not been subject to any disciplinary action within the past eighteen (18) months, and have an excellent record of attendance and punctuality during the last three (3) years (defined as no more than eighteen (18) occasions of lateness or absence for personal illness in the last three years (3) years with the exception of one extended long-term absence.
