Job Title: International Recruitment Manager for North America Reports to: Managing Director Direct Reports: 2-5 The successful candidate will have experience of international teaching, teacher recruitment and direct line management. Experience of virtual team working or team management is a plus. The post is suited to remote working and because of this, the successful candidate can be anywhere in Canada or the US*. We are staffed mainly by ex-teachers with international experience who understand the market and have a strong commercial drive. Job Overview The Recruitment Manager (RM) is candidate facing leadership role within Edvectus and you will manage a small team of 2-3 Recruitment Consultants and 1-2 part time administrators who all work remotely in North America. As opposed to a typical 360 degree recruitment roles, you and your team are candidate (teacher)-facing only and you work directly with a network of international school-facing offices in Hong Kong, Dubai and Australia to place teachers into jobs, so teamwork is essential. You and your team will market, screen, match and a counsel teachers looking for international teaching jobs. You will report directly to the Managing Director, who is based in London, UK. Main Duties The main tasks in this job include, but are not limited to:
• Manage the team of North American recruiters who are remotely based - using KPIs, coaching, regular online meetings both formal and informal.
• As we are a small team you will be expected to recruit and manage a candidate base of your own in addition to management responsibilities.
• Develop a deep understanding of the teacher market in North America including qualifications, state/provincial variations, etc
• Develop and constantly improve a marketing plan to attract suitable K-12 teacher candidates who are based anywhere in the Americas and with your team, execute the plan. You must constantly research and test new marketing initiatives.
• Keep abreast of the teacher market in your region and keep the international teams informed of changes that may affect teacher supply tactically and strategically.
• You and your team will: o Attract a consistent and growing supply of teachers who want to work internationally o Match candidates to international jobs, working closely with international offices o Know the client businesses and regional requirements well so that only well-matched candidates are presented to them. o Suggest and implement process improvements to help efficiency, cost and effectiveness. o Build candidate files which include: CVs, verified references, well-written engaging profiles, criminal checks and teaching credentials through our database o Act as a trusted source of information for candidates and internal stakeholders at all stages in the recruitment process
• Contribute materials for the Edvectus learning portal through researching content, writing text, voiceovers, visual effects and documents. Other Important Information The role can be based anywhere in the Americas and requires home/virtual working in a full time capacity during regular office hours. Edvectus is committed to thorough training and on- boarding so the successful applicant will be given all the necessary support and guidance to be successful in the role which may include some initial travel to Toronto and/or London. This job requires interfacing with team members who are worldwide in different time zones, so some flexibility of schedule is required. Person Specifications Essential
• At least 1 year of experience as a successful manager or team leader in a recruitment capacity, preferably Education (or related) recruitment
• Experience of living and working abroad, preferably as a teacher or other school employee
• Complete fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Experience working in a paid job from a home or remote office
• Experience of developing and implementing cost effective marketing plans
• Eligibility to work in the US, Latin America or Canada for the next five years and already be physically based in the US, Latin America or Canada.
• Candidates in Central or Eastern timezones are strongly preferred due to time zone challenges in communicating with the rest of the company. Desirable
• Educated to degree level preferably with teacher training and experience
