Receives extensive training in content, instructional methods and techniques. Continuously provide leadership and expertise at the local school level to support improvement in teacher instruction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Promotes district instructional priorities by providing support and demonstration of the following skills: training, modeling coaching and instructional guidance necessary for the operation of the instructional program.
- Ensures fidelity of implementation of the site based Comprehensive School Reform model via monitoring and observation.
- Conducts informal classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers and assists with the development of new teachers.
- Facilitates professional learning communities and assists teachers with collaborative lesson planning.
- Monitors students' progress and arranges for academic interventions based on formative and summative assessments.
- Conducts analysis of formative and summative student data and recommends modifications to instruction.
- Uses observation and achievement data to identify professional development needs and designs and delivers site based professional learning.
- Assists with reviewing classroom lesson plans and provides lesson plan feedback to teachers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
- Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
- Knowledge of successful techniques for classroom organization and experience planning for effective instruction.
Requirements: EDUCATION:
- Master's degree required.
- T5-T7 Teaching Certificate in a core academic content area required.
- Leadership Certificate (L5-L7) preferred.
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience is required.
