Position Summary:

The Principal is responsible for the instructional and organizational leadership of one of our K-12 schools. This role serves as the school's advocate and works with all stakeholders to create a common vision for the school that best positions the school for success and engages students and their community. The principal also works with others to develop and execute a school improvement plan and allocates resources to continually improve student achievement. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Builds a common vision and executes a strategic plan that increases student achievementDrives instructional excellenceBuilds an environment that fosters collaboration and continuous improvementBuilds a talented, aligned team focused on student achievementManages school financial, physical and personnel resources to support optimal instructionServes as school's advocate and regularly communicates with all stakeholdersManages diverse opinions, ideologies, and expertise to achieve school vision and objectivesPerforms other duties as required


Required Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, demonstrating progression of added responsibility, in Education, Educational Administration, or related fieldMinimum 3 years supervising othersMaster's Degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related fieldMust hold or be eligible for a provisional or clear renewable Leadership Certificate


Salary Information:
  • Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 8 years (Step 9) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule C-235, Principal/Assistant Principal Scale, Step 1 - Step 9.
