  • CURRICULUM TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR (CTI) for the 2019/2020 school year

    NOTE: This position is open to current CFSD employees, only.

    *Requires an Arizona Secondary teacher certificate (any Approved Area accepted) ; please see required qualifications at the bottom of this description.

    Contract Length: 10 Months (Summer training/workshops, as determined by need, with stipend)

    Summary : The Curriculum Technology Integrator implements by instruction and action the district philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities:
    • Challenges all students to achieve personal excellence through rigorous, engaging, innovative, instructional techniques that develop skills and knowledge for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship;
    • Works in a leadership capacity as part of school and district teams to increase student achievement; demonstrates leadership and collaborative skills (e.g., initiative, facilitation, problem analysis and problem-solving);
    • Employs and models effective instructional strategies that integrate the technology and subject area/course standards;
    • Provides direct support to the classroom teacher via coaching, modeling, and demonstration or team teaching to integrate appropriate technology and curriculum tools/resources that support and enhance student learning;
    • Maintains knowledge of and communicates research findings and forecasts related to the effective use of technology in the district's educational program;
    • Supports learning practices and physical environments that will support the teaching and learning of the district's strategic plan components and priorities;
    • Serves as a primary leader for the school's and district's technology initiatives, developing rollout strategies, planning and conducting teacher training, and communicating with and presenting to students and parents (when appropriate) as initiatives or programs are launched;
    • Participates in professional learning opportunities to improve performance and leadership skills;
    • Shares the vision of integrating technology into the curriculum, enabling students to learn in relevant, real world contexts (e.g., through authentic or other applied work);
    • Allows for equitable access to quality learning tools, technologies, and resources;
    • In collaboration with other CTIs, Director of Educational Technology, and Associate Superintendent, coordinates the selection and acquisition of software and emerging technologies;
    • Oversees the delegated responsibility of coordinating the implementation, training, and support needed at the school sites for programs and/or applications, such as state-mandated testing (computer-based testing), Synergy (TeacherVUE, LessonVUE), and Google's G-Suite;
    • Attends and participates in faculty meetings and weekly or biweekly meetings with the District's CTI group, Director of Educational Technology, and the Associate Superintendent;
    • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.

    Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Governing Board Policy on Evaluation of Certificated Personnel.

    *Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
    • Arizona Secondary teacher certificate (any Approved Area accepted)
    • All CFSD positions require an SEI (Structured English Immersion) endorsement on a certificate
    • Three years or more of successful teaching experience and demonstrated leadership
    • Conversant with curriculum and technology standards
    • Possession of strong foundation in pedagogy and teaching methodologies
    • Demonstrated success in the planning and delivery of instructional technology and integrated lesson plans
    • Additional specialized training and knowledge in the area of technology
    • Must be capable of providing assistance on first level technical questions, instructional applications, and software
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with teachers, principals, and district administration.
