SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS 2018
GRADES K-4
The Danbury Public School District is seeking candidates for teaching positions for the 2018 Summer School Programs for students in all Elementary Schools District Wide. For summer 2018, all Summer School program will be consolidated into three to four locations depending upon enrollment. Ellsworth, Park Avenue and King Street Primary are confirmed as Summer School sites. Because all programming and staff positions are contingent upon adequate student enrollment, some programs may be reduced, relocated or eliminated in the District's discretion.
Classes run from July 2, 2018 through July 26, 2018, Monday through Thursday.
Teacher hours from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Student day is 8:30am - 11:30am. Teacher day will include 1/2-hour breakfast or lunch supervision and 1/2-hour prep each day)
Some preparation hours may be required before July 1, 2018, based upon advance approval by the Summer School Director.
SALARY:
$33.45 per hour for NEA bargaining unit members
$20.00 per hour for NON-NEA bargaining unit members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered, all candidates must possess current Teacher Certification from the Connecticut State Department of Education, applicable to the available position. Upon meeting this minimum qualification, candidates will be selected based upon relevant teaching experience, experience and familiarity with the individual needs of the students participating in the summer program, educational background, additional education-related qualifications, and all other job-related factors. Preference given to current NEA-Danbury bargaining unit members.
