Essential Functions:

Demonstrated thorough understanding of the philosophy and types of programs covered in Family and Consumer Sciences.
Demonstrate ability to teach skills in all Family Consumer Science core classes included Teacher Cadet, Pro Start, Early Childhood Careers and Wellness and Exercise.

Collaborate with department and school staff to develop and align a curriculum.

Demonstrate ability to incorporate technology to enhance curriculum.
Demonstrated ability to become a valuable and contributing member of the staff, including work with co-curricular and enrichment activities.
Strong organizational and leadership skills and the ability to work with parents, community, students, other teachers and administrators in collaborative settings.
Participation in Professional Learning Committees related to Family and Consumer Science.

Qualifications

  1. Must hold a valid Colorado teaching license or authorization.

  2. Must meet content-area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exam, or 36 credit hours as determined by the district.

  3. Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a CTE Certification, in FACS Occupational Areas Combined


Additional Information


Mandatory Pre-Screening Standards:

Teacher must hold Colorado Teaching License and be Highly Qualified in Instructional Family and Consumer Science through an Endorsement, the PLACE content exam or meet a 24 semester credit review.

Current Colorado teaching license with an FACS endorsement

Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential in the appropriate FACS areas.

Well versed and willing to teach all areas in the FACS curriculum.

Preferred:

Demonstrate knowledge of content standards and strategies for curriculum implementation

Ability to implement technology into curriculum.

Establishes strong rapport with students, parents, and staff.

Highly Effective/Effective evaluations from previous supervisors

Demonstrates ability to be a contributing member of the FACS Department.

Clear willingness to work collaboratively.

Committed to guarantee a viable common curriculum, common assessments, and consistent grading practices and policies in the content team.

A successful internal applicant currently holding a Jeffco probationary contract will be issued a one year, temporary contract.
