SUMMARY: Responsible for co-instructing students in an elementary grades K-5. Create project-based learning lesson plans, instruct students on core subjects such as science, technology, engineering and math, and create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work collaboratively with other content area curriculum specialists to plan, prepare and deliver project-based instructional activities.

Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.

Communicate and work collaboratively as a part of a team.

Manage the Tinker Lab space, materials and prepare budget requests for approval and processing.

Work closely with digital teacher librarian in order manage school level technology and professional development.

Organize after school robotics club.

Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of professional development including organizing and facilitating sessions.

Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning by connecting learning to a hands-on learning opportunity.

Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Prepare and distribute parent communications.

Observe and evaluate student's performance.

Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Teacher must hold Colorado Teaching License and be Highly Qualified in Elementary through the PRAXIS II. Degree or experience in Science and/or Engineering preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Previous successful experience working with Common Core Standards K-5 in Science and Math preferred. Demonstrated understanding of a PK-12 perspective for designated subject area(s).

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and to meet deadlines. Willingness to implement national, state, and District initiatives. Knowledge of and experience with District's commitment to a guaranteed and viable curriculum including current work of the content team. Knowledge and ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs of the program. Demonstrated ability to consult with a variety of groups and individuals. Demonstrated ability to work flexibly on a collaborative team. Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of professional development including organizing and facilitating sessions. Knowledge and comfort with technology applications that support District curriculum.
