DESCRIPTION:

Intermediate District 287 is seeking qualified candidates for a School Nurse, District wide. This class is accountable for coordinating and assessing health issues relevant to the educational setting. Supervises and monitors paraprofessionals regarding specific health areas, may provide health-related services in specialized programs.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

General Experience: One (1) year of experience as a professional registered nurse (RN) with six (6) months in school health services, public health, hospital or psychiatric nursing. Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred.
Special Requirement: Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license as a Registered Professional Nurse in Minnesota.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Licensure by the Minnesota Department of Education as a Licensed School Nurse and CPR certification is required. Public Health Nursing Certificate and First Aid certification are preferred. Incumbents in this class may be required to possess a current Minnesota Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.
