LOCATION: Office of Facilities & Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Manager of Facilities & Maintenance

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Assume responsibility for supervising the custodial services provided at district schools. Provide guidance and support to Chief Custodians and custodial staff regarding custodial services and preventative maintenance issues.

CHARACTERISTICS - Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Will be required to supervise, evaluate and assist Chief Custodians in the maintenance, grounds keeping and operation of their school facility.
  2. Will be required to inspect school facilities to insure cleanliness, proper landscaping and proper plant operations.
  3. Will be required to interact with Maintenance Supervisor to insure that work orders are processed based on priority.
  4. Will be required to assist in developing plans for preventative maintenance and upkeep projects during school shutdowns and summer break.
  5. Will be required to provide liaison interaction between Principals and Facilities Department in support of facility operations.
  6. Will be required to coordinate Reported Time custodial assignments and supervision.
  7. Will be required to create position postings and conduct interviews for custodial positions within assigned schools.
  8. Will be required to work closely with Human Resources regarding disciplinary issues.
  9. Will be required to schedule mandatory visits to assigned schools to monitor night crew & schedules.
  10. Will be required to submit daily written reports as requested by the Manager of Facilities.
  11. Will be required to perform other tasks as assigned by Manager of Facilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. At least five (5) years of experience in a Chief Custodian position or equivalent.
  2. Ability to supervise and evaluate custodial service employees.
  3. Have basic knowledge of acceptable landscaping, cleaning and preventative maintenance responsibilities.
  4. Ability to communicate in both written and oral business English.
  5. Ability to organize projects based on available resources and time deadlines.
  6. Ability to effectively provide training in methods and technology to custodial workforce.
  7. Ability to recognize and address safety and security concerns.
  8. Ability to operate effectively as part of a "team" based management organization.
  9. Ability to work independently in an organized and goal-oriented environment.
  10. Excellent attendance record.

Required Education Level:

GED

High School diploma

Salary:

ln accordance with Red Clay Consolidated District's salary schedule.
