    Expectations of Coaches:

    The Middle School Cheer Coach serves as the leader of the program assisting each participating student in achieving a high level of skill, an appreciation for the value of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem and a high level of academic achievement. We are seeking a highly qualified coach who can motivate students to succeed in school, on the court, as well as prepare students for success.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    CERTIFICATION: Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.

    TRAINING: Successful participation in a similar activity in high school and or college. Evidence of successful past experience at the field is desired.

    **Provide a satisfactory result of a county Police Records Check, BCI, and FBI Fingerprint Checks. Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit. Provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certifications. Provide proof of completion of National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHSlearn) What You Should Know About Concussions and Fundamentals of Coaching Trainings/Certifications. Provide proof of completion of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Training/Certification.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:

    1 ) Select team members.

    2) Teach sports skills and Promote positive attitudes towards athletic competition, sportsmanship, citizenship and academic excellence.

    3) Assist the athletic director in coordinating all facets of the program.

    4) Assist in the selection, counseling and appraisal of assistant coaches.

    5) Assume responsibility for the medical welfare, including insurance coverage, of team members while under his/her supervision.

    6) Assign needed auxiliary personnel in coordination with school athletic director .

    7) Conduct periodic coaches' meetings.

    8) Maintain equipment and requisition for new equipment as needed.

    9) Verify eligibility of all team members and maintain accurate and complete records of all game participants.

    10) Represent school in all public relations pertaining to the program.

    11) Plan and coordinate all practice sessions.

    12) Identify team members eligible for awards and special recognition. Assist and advise students in the pursuit of scholarships for higher education.

    13) Abide by and be knowledgeable of policies and procedures, rules, and regulations written and implied of the Cincinnati Board of Education and the Ohio High School Athletics Association.

    14) Develop programs to frequently monitor student academic progress in school.

    15) Provide pre-season conditioning training in compliance with OHSAA Rules and Regulations.

    16) Assume other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned by school administration.

    CONTRACT PROVISIONS:

    TYPE OF CONTRACT: Supplemental Annual Limited

    SALARY: Per Schedule E of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
