SUMMARY: Provide related services that may include, gross motor skills, orthopedic concerns, mobility, adaptive equipment, positioning needs and functional skills which interfere with the student's educational performance. The focus of the interventions should be to improve the student's ability to perform at school, promote improved functional independence and/or to suggest and assist with the implementation of appropriate adaptive equipment and/or accommodations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Administer and interpret comprehensive assessments.

Provide consultation services to educational personnel, families and other medical personnel.

Provide direct services and progress monitoring.

Participate with other related service personnel as part of the staffing team in the development of the Individual Education Program (IEP) defined by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Communicate effectively both verbally and in written form, to coordinate services.

Consult with school personnel regarding best practices for the classroom and collaborates with school personnel to build and implement individualized educational programs; engages in a problem solving process with school based teams.

Input information into ezEDMed system for reimbursement purposes.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Special Services License from the Colorado Department of Education or be eligible for a Special Services License and a valid Physical Therapy License issued by Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel between schools/sites served. Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can not always be anticipated. Ability to lift and carry equipment, such as large test kits, up to 35 pounds.

Ability to meet physical needs of students.
