POSITION :

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the following committee to serve as needed from: April 2018-June 2019.

7-12 TEACHERS OF SOCIAL STUDIES

QUALIFICATIONS :

Candidates must hold a New York State certification and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools, have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards, the NY State Social Studies Curriculum Framework, and knowledge of application of scientifically-based research.

DUTIES :
  • Curriculum committees will work directly with subject area and/or curriculum administrators.
  • Curriculum committee members must have taught Social Studies in grades 7-12.
  • Committees must complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments include but are not limited to evaluating instructional materials and developing pertinent curriculum documents aligned to the NY State Social Studies Curriculum Framework.
  • Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.


APPOINTMENT :

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate:
