The Grants Program Specialist
The Grants Program Specialist assists with all areas of CA Preschool grant implementation and compliance, and supports other state Pre-K programs and grant related projects. The Grants Program Specialist provides expertise on administrative, curriculum, and training requirements specific to state mandates, and delivers informational updates on the grant program s to relate what is going well and areas for improvement. The Specialist helps schools to meet all budget, administrative, and deadline requirements of the funding. The Specialist will understand LCG processes and meet budgetary requirements as well.
The successful candidate will be the critical resource in LCG schools that run state grant/preschool/Pre-K programs, being able to coach and mentor teachers and staff on guideline adherence, and actively problem-solve and make decisions necessary to ensure year over year implementation success.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Grant Management, Early Childhood, Business, or Management focus preferred
  • 3 years of experience in early childhood program management/grant implementation or management/accreditation management preferred
  • Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with internal and external customers
  • Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with time management; organized and able to meet established deadline
  • Flexible and able to help with daily program and classroom needs
  • Able to partner and collaborate with LCG managers/employees and all grantor personnel, with the ability to influence people at all levels
  • Able to mentor/train teachers and ensure program implementation to grantor/LCG requirements
