Director of Technology

Exciting leadership opportunity for an exceptional school administrator.  The Beacon City School District is committed to providing a sound educational experience focused on success for all students.  The successful candidate for this position is one with proven ability as a rigorous district leader that has mastery in instructional technology and the management of technological systems of operations, hardware, software and infrastructure in a school district; has prior administrative experience in a multicultural setting; is an innovative instructional leader; and is an effective communicator with a proven record of developing positive relationships among students, families, and school staff.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in providing instructional leadership at the district level in order to develop, implement, and supervise the development and use of instructional technology to promote digital literacy and 21^st century learning environments;
• Leadership in development, implementation, and evaluation of a district’s technology plan and 1:1 technology initiatives;
• Knowledge and/or experience with SmartBond, eRate, and other funding sources as well as budget planning and development to support innovative practices and maintenance of technology infrastructure;
• Knowledge and/or experience with operation and maintenance of district’s technology infrastructure, data management systems, software and hardware bidding, licensing, and operational maintenance;
• Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards & K - 12 curriculum; research based practice for the integration of technology into curriculum, lesson design, instructional delivery; and assessment of student learning;
• Knowledge, experience and/or prior training qualifications with supervision and evaluation of department staff;
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with school and district leaders, staff, families, and community members to achieve district’s goals and priorities through facilitation of district’s Technology Committee;
• Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform critical decisions at the department and district level required;
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills, required.

  Salary Range:     Commensurate with experience (BEAA Contract)

  Requirements:    Valid New York State administrative certification SAS/SDA or SBL required.

                                NYS principal, assistant principal, or district administrator experience preferred.
