The Board of Education of the Duval County Public School District in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking an exemplary educational leader to serve as their next superintendent.  It is anticipated that the new leader will begin their duties on July 1, 2018.  The Duval County Public Schools serve 128,000 students in 196 schools with families and students living in the numerous communities and neighborhoods within the county.  It is the 20^th largest school district in the country.

The Duval County Public Schools are a microcosm of American society and include families of diverse races, ethnic groups, religions and socio-economic status.  Academic progress as measured by the graduation rate and the State of Florida rating system has shown significant improvement over the past years.  The graduation rate has improved 11.1% since 2012.  Schools earning an “A, “B or C” grade from the State of Florida increased to 89% contrasted to 75% one year ago.
