We are looking for educators and leaders who want the opportunity to use their voice to build something new; to be a part of a team that's building something from the ground up. Our first school, Beta Academy in Richmond, CA, opened in 2014 and is now a fully grown K-8 serving 800 students.  ChangeMakers Academy in Vallejo, CA opened in fall 2016. ChangeMakers now serves almost 500 students, TK-4th and 6th/7th grades and will be fully grown K-8 in 2018. We plan to open additional schools in 2018-2021 as we grow to nearly 4,000 seats K-12 in the Bay Area.
Position Summary We are looking for an experienced teacher leader to join our team as an Instructional Coach for grades K-2. We have a preference for applicants with coaching and/or teaching experience in K-2nd grade, but we will consider all applicants with experience in K-6th grade. You will build strong relationships with the teachers you coach in order to drive the achievement of all students. You will use Caliber teacher evaluation rubrics to drive the professional growth of your teachers. You will integrate social-emotional framework into coaching conversations to drive equitable support of all students.
Responsibilities
Coaching
  • Provide coaching to some K-2nd grade teachers and/or Instructional Assistants (instructionally and behaviorally). Exact coaching load will be determined based on experience, interest, and need.
  • Support teachers with long term planning and Scope and Sequencing
  • Model lessons in classrooms for the teachers you support.
  • Support the instructional development of teachers, including meeting needs of Tier 1, 2, and 3 students (instructionally and behaviorally)
  • Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction, behavior management, planning and interventions that target both academics and behavior
  • Work closely with Leadership Team to develop staff members' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of professional development targeted topics and designs
  • Implement whole school systems support (arrival, dismissal, classroom coverage, lunch/recess, school events)
  • Implement and be a model for staff in Restorative Practices
  • Co-create and implement informational workshops for families on instructional (Math, ELA, etc.) topics/practices so they can better support their students' work
Data
  • Conduct and support staff with Data Meetings
  • Support teachers and work with Leadership Team and SPED Team to use data to improve instruction on all levels
  • Track individual student's data to monitor progress of students in COST
What We Look For
Experience:
  • 3 or more years of teaching experience, preferably in a high performing school driving excellent student outcomes.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience integrating technology into the classroom.
  • Preferred experience with social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
  • Preferred experience teaching/coaching with K-2nd grade
  • Experience leading a grade level or content team
  • Experience leading professional development and formally coaching other teachers is a plus!

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid California State Teaching Credential or equivalent and transferable teaching license from another state , preferred

Salary scales are based on years of experience and expertise. Scales are competitive with other charter school organizations and local districts.
