Job Description
1. To establish and maintain professional respect, trust, and confidentiality regarding the mentoring relationship.
2. Offer day-to-day assistance and support to mentee.
3. To participate in the Longmeadow Public Schools Employee Orientation program (August 23, 2018).
4. Participate in up to 40 hours of consultations and classroom observations with release time provided by the district and approved by the building principal.
5. Attend scheduled, monthly, after-school meetings with Mentor Coordinator.
6. Schedule and attend weekly meetings with mentee to provide personal, professional, and emotional support during non-contractual time.
7. Maintain a Log of Activities and Hours and share with Mentor Coordinator and Assistant Superintendent.
8. Participated in mentor support training offered or approved by the district.
9. Participate in an assessment of the Mentor/New Teacher Induction Program.
10. Assist with planning and development of the FY19 Mentor/New Teacher Induction Program.

Job Requirements
Mentors must have completed an approved Mentor training program. In lieu of a stipend, mentors may choose to earn 5 SAC as a new teacher mentor.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
