SLP positions are available at multiple locations including k-12 schools, preschool and Meadowood program. Experience serving students with autism and facilitating use of AAC devices is highly desirable.
Overview: The key role of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is to identify students with a communication disorder that may adversely affect a child's educational performance and/or to address the communication needs of students who have been identified as needing Speech Language Services within our Red Clay Schools.
Duties:
- Assess students to identify potential communication deficits/needs
- Generate, implement, and monitor Individualized Educational Programs
- Work as a member of the IEP team/ Ability to operate in a team environment
- Plan and provide services for students with intellectual disabilities including significant Speech/Language needs
- Collaborate and consult with parents, teachers, and other school staff
- Maintain case records for students
- Write evaluation reports
- Communicate with school representatives
- Provide transdisciplinary speech and language services within the natural context of the school day
- Knowledge of AAC and AT
- Complete Cost Recovery Documentation
- Can prioritize daily responsibilities in order to address students' strengths and needs
Qualification:
- Masters Degree (will consider Clinical Fellowship)
- Must meet certification requirements for Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Professional License for Speech Language Pathologist
