The Production Technology program at Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12 is seeking a set and scenic design adjunct to begin at the start of the 2018-2019 school year to work 15 hours a week at a competitive hourly rate with no benefits with students ranging in grades 6-12 (with an emphasis on grades 6-8).
Reports To: Principal of CAPA 6-12
Salary:
Salary: $35.38 an hour
15 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical Theater, with a focus in scenic design or related field and experience managing a crew backstage during live performances required.
- Master's Degree or two years professional experience preferred.
- Prior teaching experience highly preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up, AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks on Mac.
- Additional experience in a second area of technical theater preferred.
The ideal candidate is:
- A working artist in the Pittsburgh Theater scene.
- Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, prepared to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Prepared to develop new course material as needed.
- Ready to assist with production work outside of regular school hours; e.g. supervising 2-4 evening events per semester.
Residency Requirements: No Residency Requirement
