Performance Responsibilities

• Creates engaging hands on learning opportunities that address state standards. • Collaborates with grade level teachers to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the grade level focus • Differentiates for instructional needs and learning levels • Teach, co-teach, and model best practices for math instruction while also demonstrating strategies for differentiating instruction to address the needs for students • Give timely feedback to teachers along with applicable strategies for support and growth • Facilitate common planning for grade levels that includes mathematical reasoning, working through operations, and planning for the instructional needs of students. • Facilitate school based, zone wide, and district wide professional development • Collaborate with the administration to implement school wide strategies for math achievement

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Communicate effectively in written and oral form • Utilize effective problem-solving skills • Demonstrate effective collaboration skills • Knowledge of how to integrate technology in classroom instruction preferred • Demonstrate desire to advance knowledge of MATH content and pedagogy by participating in professional learning

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education - Master's preferred • Experience in successfully implementing standards based mathematics instruction • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in Grades K5 preferred • Deep understanding of best practices for teaching mathematics using the HCDE Math Framework • Experience in facilitating professional learning preferred • Demonstrate strong use of technology for instruction • Demonstrated experience in implementing instructional activities for K-5 •
