Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) as a Credentialing Coordinator. This position will report directly to the Credentialing Manager and will be responsible for providing day-to-day human resources operations support including state reporting, audit preparation, credential review and highly qualified determination, background checks, personnel document collection, data entry into various systems and maintenance of personnel files.

In this role you will work out of our corporate headquarters (Service Center) located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The NHA Service Center is where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens. Our 350 brilliant team members are brag-worthy. With a diverse group of departments like admissions, talent acquisition, facilities, legal services, and many more working together to provide top level back-office support. The Service Center is a place of bright colors, smiling faces, and opportunity. We like to gather for events such as the fall crocktoberfest cook-off, the sparkling Christmas party full of fun and unexplainable excitement, and our annual 5K Service Center fun run.

Your Role

  • Be knowledgeable on the credential requirements for instructional and non-instructional employees
  • Influentially request documentation from employees and routinely follow up with employees on items missing from personnel files, communicate credentialing requirements to employees when necessary, and escalate non-compliance as needed
  • Maintain information in a HRIS system, document imaging software, and other systems
  • Understand and complete state and authorizer reporting related to personnel, contracted employees, and volunteers within required deadlines
  • Assist with audits of personnel files at the service center and school locations, including preparation of reports, data, and files
  • Be knowledgeable about Form I-9 and E-verify, act as the employer to verify the form and complete with relevant e-verify requirements by state
  • Intake and conduct quality review of volunteer and coach applications, conduct background checks, update relevant systems, and audit schools for compliance
  • Use Excel effectively to create reports, combine data from multiple sources, and use judgement to analyze data for quality and potential audit risks
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced & changing work environment
  • "See and need, fill a need" drive and ability to own and lead projects
  • High degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
  • Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team oriented environment
  • Ability to use software to create and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
