- Ensures that a plan is in place that supports improved academic achievement for all students and staff and provides for data based progress monitoring
- Organizes and facilitates the lead teacher in: arranging classroom visitations; leading instructional dialogue; creating a professional learning plan; supporting professional learning plan implementation
- Deepens understandings of the english/ELA instructional model among building administrators and leadershipteam
- Monitors the development of lead teachers to expand and refine: content, coaching, pedagogy, facilitation, and adult learning theory
- Supports/Monitors the development of the lead teacher's understandings of the science instructional model using formative assessment to drive the teaching and learning cycle
- Participates in equity professional learning and connects that learning to core documents as well as to work with teachers.
- Works collaboratively with community, in-district partners and families to further science and STEM opportunities for students in APS.
- Continually deepens understandings: reads and applies in practice the core documents of the science instructional model; implements effective science instruction using the science instructional model; pedagogy; facilitation; adult learning theory; and reflective practice
- Develops plan for improving science instruction in their building in conjunction with the principal and the school's UIP
- Communicates with principal using coaching log around the work they are doing with teachers in their building
- Develops effective communication strategies with lead teachers, building administrators and staff, instructional coordinators and P-20 directors
- Develops positive, professional relationships with teachers, lead teachers (lab classrooms), administrators and colleagues
- Possess and demonstrate the skills and knowledge associated with science instructional practices including differentiated approaches to learning and data analysis
- Minimum of 3 years of professional teaching experience
- Organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision.
- The teacher shall identify the development needs of students, shall maintain a productive learning environment, and shall work collaboratively to support the priorities of the Strategic Plan.
