POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Coach is a master teacher who serves in the capacity of a site-based content-specific coach providing support to teachers in the implementation of strategies and best practices. Receives extensive training in content, instructional methods and techniques. Works in collaboration with the Principal and leadership team to ensure a positive learning environment and an increase in student achievement. Continuously provides leadership and expertise at the local school level to support improvement in teacher instruction. This position reports to the School Principal and is on a year-to-year appointment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Promote district instructional priorities by providing support and demonstration of the following skills: training, modeling, coaching and instructional guidance necessary for the operation of the instructional program.
  • Develop and oversee the innovative implementation of an interdisciplinary course of study that supports district learning goals and objectives and aligns with state curricular frameworks.
  • Conduct informal classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Facilitates professional learning communities through modeling, co-planning, and co-teaching.
  • Analyze system, school and student data to determine trends to ensure the most effective strategies for meeting and exceeding student achievement goals.
  • Monitor students' progress and arrange for academic interventions based on formative and summative assessments.
  • Conducts analysis of formative and summative assessment data and recommends modification to instruction.
  • Plan and conduct professional learning opportunities for school based personnel on implementing the standards-based curriculum, inquiry learning and authentic assessment.
  • Assist with reviewing classroom lesson plans and provide lesson plan feedback to teachers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.


Requirements: EDUCATION: Master?s degree required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Georgia PSC Teaching Certificate SRT5 ? SRT7 in a core academic content area (ELA) is required; Georgia PSC Leadership Certificate preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE: 3 years of successful teaching experience required.

Compensation: Salaray Grade: IS 5- IS 7
Salary Range: $52, 709 - $95, 667
Work Days: 211
