Salary Range
(10 month)
Minimum : $20,598 Maximum: $41,857

*Please note that anyone new to the PFT union will start at the minimum salary for this position, regardless of prior experience.*

Assists school staff with maintaining a climate conducive to learning. Monitors, tracks and supports student behavior and enforces school and classroom rules.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitates smooth transitions at the start and end of the school day
  • Assist teachers in the establishment and execution of classroom rules and procedures that support teaching and learning.
  • Enforces the Code of Student Conduct and all District policies and procedures.
  • Attends workshops and professional development sessions on climate and behavior enhancing programs and initiatives.
  • Intervenes to minimize potential conflicts between students to prevent escalation of situations.
  • Participates in the implementation of the School Climate Plan.
  • Reinforces appropriate behavior with individual students.
  • Monitor student behavior during unstructured time

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree program at an accredited college or university.
OR
  • 60 credit hours in a matriculated status at an accredited college or university.
AND
  • One year of full-time, paid or volunteer experience participating in community or schools developing or implementing conflict resolution programs.
OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Highly Qualified exam.
AND
  • One year of full-time, paid or volunteer experience participating in community or schools developing or implementing conflict resolution programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies.
    • current social, emotional and economic issues as they relate to urban families.
    • evidenced-based climate strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to :
  • learn the Code of Student Conduct and all District policies and procedures.
  • work as a member of a team.
  • effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
