K12 is seeking a deeply experienced Marketing professional with high energy, recognized for success and achievement, and possessing an appetite for both complexity and nuance to serve as our VP, Marketing. The Vice President, Marketing is responsible for overseeing integrated marketing campaigns in support of all lines of business. Functional areas include Marketing Strategy, Project Management, Creative Services, Websites, Video Production, Market Research and Email Marketing. This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and includes regular interactions with other company senior executive leaders.

  • Responsible for creation, implementation and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns for public and private school efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams/stakeholders to provide brand and strategy direction to deliver these campaigns based on business objectives;
  • Manage internal team of designers and writers as well as video production team to deliver creative assets for acquisition and retention campaigns.
  • Accountable for brand guidelines, content creation and legal approval;
  • Oversee internal Market research team to deliver research and market insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for reporting out on research findings to key stakeholders. School Services, Public Policy and Enrollment are the key "customers" for this team;
  • Responsible for all K12 websites and working collaboratively with IT to implement web best practices and upgrades; including the responsibility for, and improvement to, the customer journey from lead generation to retention;
  • Manage email marketing team to deliver all acquisition and retention email campaigns. Employ best in class email practices and a rapid cycle testing strategy for on-going optimization of campaigns.
  • Directly supervise 6 - 8 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field AND
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in marketing AND
  • Ten (10) years of management experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to build and manage a strong partnership with other teams within Marketing and other departments. Key working relationships include Product Development, School Services, Corporate Communications and Enrollment teams
  • Ability to strategically interpret data and develop recommendations.
  • Comfortable in an on-going test and learn environment.
  • Embraces an ever-changing environment while simultaneously balancing multiple projects and ability to switch priorities and focus quickly
  • Passionate and self-motivated with the ability and curiosity necessary to network and leverage internal and external resources
  • Ability to articulate and champion marketing best practices and standards to leadership, including how best to optimize messaging and channels
  • Constant innovation and thrives on finding and piloting new ideas to drive marketing
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Experience in the educational industry, especially for grades K-12
