The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees is seeking an educational leader with an outstanding record of achievement to serve as Superintendent beginning July 1, 2018.

The School Board anticipates offering an annual base salary in the range of $135,000 to $150,000 plus benefits for the position. As a part of the benefit package, the District pays 28% of wages into Nevada PERS, with no Social Security deduction on wages. Also, the State of Nevada has no income tax.

The District

The Churchill County School District (CCSD) serves approximately 3,400 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and an early learning center (for Pre-K). The District employs a staff of about 410 employees. The District has invested more than $40 million in capital improvements for facilities and technology infrastructure since 2009.

Technology is an important part of instruction for teachers and students in CCSD. Chromebook devices have been successfully rolled out in all grade levels, grades 2-12, to provide authentic and relevant 21st Century learning. Each classroom is fitted with smartboard technology and the ability to perform state-of-the-art lessons. Teachers enhance their technology skills through many professional learning opportunities and trainings. Technology has transformed classrooms to promote learning and success for all students. CCSD has recently adopted a model for blended learning at the middle school. With an emphasis on Career Technical Education (CTE), the District offers a unique array of programs outside the basic academic curriculum aimed at building knowledge and skills students will use in everyday life after graduation. The high school offers eleven different Advanced Placement courses and participates in the JumpStart to College program at Western Nevada College. Nine students completed their associate's degree prior to graduating from high school.

Churchill County High School has a rich tradition of excellence. The school receives great community support for athletics, fine arts, and other programs. The 2018 wrestling season ended with four student athletes becoming Division 3A State Champions in their individual weight classes. The girls basketball team is the reigning 2-time State Champion for Division 3A. Also, the Cheerleading squad and Archery team won state championships this year. A great variety of programs are available for students outside the basic academic curriculum.
