JOB SUMMARY

The Family Coordinator plays a critical role in the Operations team. The Family Coordinator will serve as a point of contact for all families of NHACS. S/He must be personable and able to clearly communicate school policies and the vision and mission of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Family Outreach

  • Create systems to allow for fluid communication between families and the school office.
  • Analyze trends within schools and proactively assist in developing strategies to address family concerns within the school community. 
  • Serve as the communication liaison to various DOE offices on family and community concerns and operational requests. 
  • Promote school and community engagement activities and communications, with the goal of promoting student success in the school.
  • Represent the school and provide support during family meetings, workshops and school events.
  • Gather, analyze and share family and community members’ feedback with the Senior Leadership Team, and work to develop community-based initiatives

Recruitment of Students & Lottery/Enrollment

  • Implements the student recruitment plan for upcoming lottery and school year.
  • Maintains student enrollment
  • Manages the collection of student applications, online and hard copies
  • Supports the distribution and collection of enrollment packets to families of admitted students.
  • Manage student records verification of incoming students, preparing transcripts for current students, and preparing withdrawal forms for transferring students

Student Information & Health Records

  • Manage student records verification of incoming students, and preparing records for transferring students
  • Maintains student records in accordance with federal and school-based policies, as well as audit guidelines
  • Make updates data via ATS and the in-house student information system
  • Ensures both Middle and High Schools has complete and current immunization records for all students
  • Vision screen students as mandated by the Department of Health.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of office space, files, and all information pertaining to students, parents, staff, and community

Office Operations

  • Organizes, secures, and maintains a pristine office space and environment
  • Directs phone calls and guests warmly and professionally
  • Translates, and distributes school correspondence including but not limited to: letters, memos, and weekly bulletins  
  • Other duties as assigned by the School Leader or Senior Leadership Team

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Able to proactively and strategically work to meet short- and long-term community goals. 
  • Work and function as part of a team. 
  • Build relationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Motivated, self-directed team player with a history of success.
  • Knowledge of ATS, strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills and ability to input, track and document information in an online database.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of coordinating experience, required
  • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Experience in school setting is preferred
  • High school or equivalent
