Lake Forest Community High School is seeking a full-time Student Activities Director.

Description: The Student Activities Director provides direct supervision and oversight of all clubs, activities, and student related events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all LFHS clubs and activities and the student activities budget.Oversees payroll of event supervision extracurricular events.Hires, supervises, and conducts annual evaluations of the club/activity sponsors.Supports club/activity sponsors with managerial and logistical aspects of their clubs.Collects, reviews, and analyzes attendance for all LFHS clubs and activities.Engages in continuous progress monitoring of student participation and works to identify ways to increase participation and create experiences to connect more students.Collaborates with the Athletic Director to assess, evaluate, and report on school-wide participation in extracurricular activities.Supports the implementation of new clubs/activities including pilots.Develops and supports student programming during lunch periods, before/after school, and during special schedules.Facilitates meetings with faculty representation to vet any changes within current student activities that intersect with the CBA.Supports the development of the Theater Department, while providing direct supervision over the extra-curricular theater activities.Collaborates with APT and PALS to support theater programming and school-wide initiatives.Plans, staffs, and oversees prom, dances, club events and other identified events.Supervises and evaluates the Theater Manager.Works closely with the Theater and Music Departments to align schedules and performances.Works with ECRA to facilitate data alignment into the LFHS student dashboard and related school systems.Presents and participates in 8th grade transition events, meetings, and presentations.Conducts an annual activities fair open to all LFHS students and/or participates in the Scout Experience.Schedules facilities, custodians, maintenance, security and chaperones for all school events under his/her supervision.Approves activity-related field trips.Approves and monitors school advertising (i.e., bulletin boards and event posters).Oversees student parking, working with parents, students, and school-based groups and committees.Supports the Deans' Office with lunchroom supervision and event supervision.Supervises and evaluates classroom instruction.Assists with graduation.Participates as a member of the Leadership Team.

Qualifications:
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL), with a General Administrative Endorsement or Teacher Leader EndorsementTeacher Evaluator Designations (preferred, but may be obtained)Demonstrated excellence in creating and supporting dynamic and meaningful experiences for studentsExperience planning and organizing large student eventsStrong communication, collaboration and organizational skills
