PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Certification or eligibility for certification as an assistant principal in the State of Delaware.
  2. Five years of full-time, successful classroom experience at the middle/secondary school level.
  3. Training in the Delaware Performance Appraisal System II preferred.

REPORTS TO: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in:
  1. Providing leadership in curricular areas.
  2. Evaluating the performance of assigned professional staff.
  3. Implementing data processing services within the building.
  4. Maintaining student discipline.
  5. Serving with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational activities and objectives.
  6. Preparing the school's budget.
  7. Supervising and monitoring student attendance.
  8. Promoting positive school-community relations.
  9. Administrating the total school program in the absence of the principal.
  10. Coordinating the building substitute-teacher program.
  11. Being involved in individual student program planning.
  12. Coordinate statewide testing program.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
