POSITION: Special Education Teacher (4 positions available; elementary and secondary)
LOCATION: Elementary, Middle, and High School
SALARY: $43,625 minimum; actual salary depends on education and experience
CONTRACT: 185 day
START DATE: August 2018
CLOSING DATE: April 6, 2018

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with a certification &/or endorsement as a special education teacher. Desired qualifications include: Excellent knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures; knowledge of scientifically researched-based materials and curriculum, positive behavior intervention and support systems and data collection; understanding of and experience working with students with wide variety of disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, and mental disabilities; love, understanding, respect, and realistic expectations for students; strong understanding of child development and how to prepare students for transitions; ability to collaborate with teachers and plan cooperatively to benefit students; ability to supervise and work well with paraprofessionals; excellent classroom management skills; ability to support existing programs; strong interpersonal skills; good public relations skills in dealing with professional and support staffs and parents; and willingness to participate on school and District committees and in required in-service activities.
