The School District of Clayton is seeking paraprofessionals for the 2018 Clayton Summer Programs. The Paraprofessional assists the teacher in providing each student with a program that will enable the student to reach his/her fullest potential. To be successful the position must embrace the principles of - One Child-One Team, service-oriented leadership, accountable management, and effective collaboration.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Language Skills- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.
Mathematical Skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
Reasoning Ability- ability to problem-solve and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral or diagram form.
Education: Sixty hours of college credit required.
Certification: Missouri substitute certification required.
Experience: Experience working with children preferred.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
