REPORTS TO: Headmaster or Designee

The English High School is embarking on a process of putting Career/Technical Pathways in place to prepare students for entrance into employment as well as preparing them for post secondary options of either college or advanced training. Programs will be rolled out over the next two years. This is an opportunity to assist in the development of dynamic career pathways that address the interests of students and the needs of local industry.
The teacher will be comfortable using classroom and lab instruction to cover the Business Technology Vocational Frameworks including safety and all industry related materials. The Program will incorporate interdisciplinary and project-based learning and must have a Community Based work based learning component.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that incorporates state curricular frameworks
• Deliver content through discrete instruction, demonstration, practice, and projects
• Instruct students in safety and all industry related curriculum materials
• Instruct students in all aspects of the industry
• Maintain records as required by the school, district, or state
• Build and maintain partnerships that assist in getting students into authentic learning experiences
• Participate in team meetings /curriculum development/and professional development activities that support student achievement and program and school functioning
• Share in administrative duties as determined by the Headmaster or designee
• Perform other related duties as requested by Headmaster

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

1. Must possess a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Vocational Teachers license in Business Technology or have all of the qualifications to be eligible for licensure
2. Must have an Associate's degree in a related field, at a minimum
3. Must have six years work experience in the field
4. Must possess Industry Credentials in relevant Microsoft Office Applications, QuickBooks and American Retail Federation
5. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

Preferred:

1. Prior teaching experience
2. Familiar with industry certifying options
3. Experience working with urban youth
4. OSHA 10 certification
