Student Services Coordinator needed for the 2018-19 school year.

PURPOSE:
To ensure the consistent, appropriate implementation of special education programs and services for the purpose of fostering student growth and ensuring compliance with District, state and federal regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Possess valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Director of Special Education Endorsement OR General Administrative Endorsement, Principal Endorsement or Type 75 Administrative Certification along with Special Education Endorsement (former Type 10) or School Service Personnel Endorsement (former Type 73)Extensive knowledge of interventions related to instruction and behavior;Ability to work collaboratively with school and district personnel;Knowledge of a broad range of materials, resources, and practices in K-8 curriculum areas;Understanding of special education legal requirements, RtI / MTSS, social-emotional learning, positive behavior supports, and educational best practices K-8;Ability to establish and maintain effective organizational and community relationships;Capacity to effectively and efficiently organize and prioritize information; develop short and long range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic, and effective in meeting special education program goals; and integrate planning efforts across special education areas;Demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills.

  • District, state, and federal policies and procedures related to special education are consistently followed with integrity and fidelity;Increase in building's student achievement data and growth targets;Successful implementation of problem solving;Increase in student ownership of learning due to support provided to teachers;Increase of highly functioning teams in the schools;Increase of parent involvement and satisfaction.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Student Services

TERM: Teacher school year plus two weeks (10 days) prior to teacher school year and two weeks (10 days) after teacher school year. Exact schedule to be coordinated with the Executive Director of Student Services.
