Passionate Special Education Records Coordinator are needed at the K12 partner school, Nevada Virtual Academy (NVVA). We want you to be a part of our talented team!

The Special Education Records Coordinator, under general direction, coordinates activities related to student enrollment, registration activities, and special education records management. This position acts as the school's advocate or representative in handling student records requests, IEP documentation and scheduling of assessments. This is a 12-month position.

AS A COORDINATOR, YOU WILL...
  • Oversees the transfer of student records between schools, districts, parents and the special education enrollment teams.
  • Serves as point of contact on document receipt issues for students, prospective students, parents, administrative personnel, and reporting agencies
  • Manages, develops, and ensures compliance with special education student records confidentiality by storing them in secure, locked cabinets.
  • Uploads special education documents into FileShare and Infinite Campus systems.
  • Ensures State compliancy guidelines are met for all special education student records
  • Manages and maintain records requests logs for tracking purposes
  • Manages and coordinates assigned school records
  • Conducts daily data entry into school systems which includes entering households
  • Assists in record collection for State reporting compliance
  • Monitors privacy of student information by requesting student data from the parent/legal guardian to verify it is accurate to the individual student
  • Ensures special education documentation is sent to parent for proper signatures
  • Maintains special education calendar
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning. Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and one year office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certificates and Licenses: None required.
