SALARY: LEVEL 54 on the Educational Support Specialist Salary Schedule. Salary depends on experience in the same or similar position. SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENTS:

Assessment Tech will be trained in the following procedures: Perform follow-up duties to meet time lines for compliance, including data entry, data management, and word processing functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Track Individual Education Plan (IEP) due dates and generate computerized draft IEPs according to district time lines.
  2. Prepare notices, forms, and draft Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  3. Provide support to students, teachers, instructional staff, and families as needed.
  4. Distribute and coordinate necessary paperwork for staff and parents.
  5. Perform other job related duties as determined by supervisor.
  6. Review IEP and evaluation paperwork against compliance indicators determined by the District.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent; related college degree or post secondary training preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively under supervision.
  4. Demonstrated successful experience developing and maintaining positive and professional working relationships with a diverse group of students, staff, and the community in a professional manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to conduct the activities of the position and meet stringent procedural and time line requirements.
  6. Extensive travel requiring the individual to maintain a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle in sound operating condition.
  7. Excellence in spelling, grammar, and punctuation; ability to proofread and edit.
  8. Demonstrated organizational skills.
  9. Demonstrated word processing skills at 55 words per minute on Mac or IBM computer, and demonstrated abilities with Windows, spreadsheets, and E-Mail.
  10. Demonstrated proficiency in use of Office Suite and FileMaker Pro preferred.
  11. Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  1. Work Schedule-Days and hours are subject to change depending on program and district needs.
  2. Benefits-Fringe benefits are provided for employees who work at least half-time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position. Stipends are as approved by the Board of Directors.
  3. A fingerprint background check is required for all perspective employees prior to start date. A processing fee is payable by payroll deduction.
