The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) has set ambitious goals to ensure that every childin every school and every neighborhoodhas access to a world-class learning experience from birth, resulting in graduation from high school college- and career-ready.

The Network Comprehensive Service Coordinators (CSC's) provide technical assistance to network and school staff around health and social services, and parent engagement. These staff members are assigned to the network offices.

  • Assists networks in developing plans to support parents with individualized short-and long-term goals and in accomplishing them.

  • Serve as a liaison to networks organizing child and family records, including but not limited to, family files.

  • Attends monthly staff and management meetings.

  • Identifies community agencies and resources which provide services to networks and families, establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with them.

  • Ensures network and school staff deliver social service, emergency and non-emergency services, directly or through referrals to families.

  • Support networks with creating a system to respond to child absences and ensure child safety by visiting or calling the parents, according to procedures.

  • Support networks with creating accurate,reports as requested

  • Monitor networks to ensure child health, mental health, and family engagement supports are effectively implemented.

  • Performs other duties, as requested.



In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Comprehensive Service Coordinators must possess the following qualifications:

Type of Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Service field



Type of Experience and Number of Years:

  • Minimum 2 -5 years experience working in the field of child and family engagement

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working with federal and state early childhood regulations



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively multi task.

  • Work effectively with parents from multi-culturally and economically diverse backgrounds.

  • Principles and practices of sociology in areas of family development and the dynamics and problems of diverse and disadvantaged communities.

  • Ability to direct, problem solve, develop and delegate as situations dictate.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.

  • Ability to use a range or technology and tools, including but not limited to Microsoft, Oracle, and Google.

  • Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a tem environment.

  • Maintain accurate records and files.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive or privileged information.
