PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide students with Speech and /or Language services that will enable them to reach their maximum communication potential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Determine and use professionally sound procedures for referrals, identification, diagnosis, caseload selection, case termination and follow-up of Speech/Language Pathology students as specified in the Direct Services Departmental handbook.

Establish daily schedules for assigned students according to service minutes established in the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Weekly school schedules are established according to caseload size and service time in each building.

Adhere to an established schedule unless modifications are necessary for the purpose of evaluations, staffings, medical consults or district-scheduled meetings.

Assume responsibility for securing written parental permission for required consents as mandated by I.D.E.A.

Develop and implement an IEP (and other supporting paperwork) for each student within mandated timelines. Submit required paperwork to the Speech/Language office for review.

Perform initial evaluations and re-evaluations as required by federal, state and district guidelines.

Complete all required forms for Medicaid billing (i.e. therapy logs, progress reports and physician recommendations.) Maintain logs on each student serviced and submit logs on Medicaid students to the Direct Services office monthly.

Update and submit Caseload Summary report monthly with logs.

Maintain an individual folder for each student that contains all forms required by federal and state mandates and by Medicaid.

Complete progress reports quarterly for each student served. Reports are provided to parents during parent conferences or mailed with classroom grade cards.

Maintain accurate records with the Speech/Language office.

Compile year-end data and complete all required year-end forms.

Utilize allocated coordination time to perform additional professional responsibilities including developing and updating therapy plans, holding parent conferences, staff consultations, and classroom observations.

Attend scheduled staff developments.

Perform other miscellaneous professional duties as needed to support the functions of the Exceptional Education/Direct Services Program.

Work the full length of extended school year program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree with Missouri Certification in Speech/Language Pathology K-12 or Licensed by Missouri Board of Healing Arts and/or Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech/Language Hearing Association

LENGTH OF WORK:

Summer School session May 29, 2018 – June 22, 2018

Must be able to commit to the entire 4 weeks.
